Sleeping Light - for chamber orchestra (2024)
In my composition Sleeping Light, I present a textured sonic landscape where contrasting elements of color, density, and variety coalesce into a unified auditory experience. The piece unfolds as a dynamic soundscape shaped by the interplay of pitch, noise, and gesture, where individual voices weave into a cohesive and compelling narrative. I explore the interaction of contrapuntal layers, the blended hues of overlapping instrumental voices, and the fragmentation of melodic gestures within a continuously flowing texture. Sleeping Light invites listeners to engage deeply with a sound world in which every element is essential, fostering a profound sense of collective resonance. At its core, the work reflects my pursuit of music as an ecology of sound—an environment where voices converge, diverge, and ultimately coalesce into shared resonance.
